It seemed fine enough, plenty of camp sites with tables and fire pits. Had to stop to camp here because I wasn't going to make it to Flagstaff before sun set. I went during the first week of July and because it was near a river mosquitos were everywhere. Bring bug spray!
Nice little campground. Clean and well maintained.
Beautiful view and setup. Only thing lacking was running water and lights in the bathrooms. Would definitely stay again.
This primitive BLM campsite is hidden below from the highway. You can hear some traffic and at night, you can see headlights from Highway 191. It only sits about 1/10 of the mile away from the road. However, since it is down below, it's surprisingly a decent campground with lots of cottonwood trees. There is a petroglyph wall adjacent to the campground. Each site has a very nice metal picnic table and fire ring. There are several vaulted toilets and running potable water spigots available. This is a great spot for base camping to visit the nearby attractions. I rated this a 4-star because the AT&T data service (No 4G and sometimes E+ or H) was not sufficient or reliable for my needs to work from the RV. If you're looking to work remotely, this may not be the place to work from since you are below the main road, and line of sight to AT&T tower may be hindered.
Water and toilets but no showers. Not sure why you would stay here since there are miles of outback camping around here but if you do need to it's just your average BLM campground. Really, this is the place local tour operators use to launch San Juan float trips.
